I dropped a TV on my knee

Seriously- I shit you not.

I'm sick of the crutches, the brace, the vicodin... ok wait- maybe I wont go THAT far. But everything else sucks.

I'm about 2 seconds from slapping the shit out of the next person who calls me... Peg, Gimpy, Crip or makes fun of the way I walk.... AND explaining what happened and how.... well 25,000 times a day is my limit- so sorry.

How? Who drops a TV on their leg? How does this happen you may ask.... well first of all know that I do nothing halfway and rarely without audience so- it WAS impressive. It was during my orientation class (to the company you pervs) and I went to show the Fish video (essentially it's about how you too can be a sick fuck and love your job with maddening intensity). So I went to the cart to roll out the TV/VCR combo and the cart tipped forward instead of rolling forward. Now, I refer to this cart as the Cart of Death (no, I'm not dramatic at ALL)... but it's tall for a cart- about my chest level and it's narrow and the 32" TV on it was FAR too large and extended beyond the surface area of the cart on all sides.... in retrospect I really should have noticed these things before. Oh well- so the TV comes forward and I for WHATEVER reason have the instinct to catch it. My hands come up and out- one of which is still holding the video tape and my right knee bent comes up. The heavy TV passes through my hands like nothing- hits my knee and falls to the floor and cracks. HUH. So class this is how you drop a TV on your knee. I had 17 people in my class- they were all staring at me since I was teaching it... everyone in the hallway who heard the very loud noise of the TV breaking came up. I'm standing there- knee numb- everyone staring at me. Scalding heat emanating from my face as I turn to everyone looking at me and say- How red is MY face? I walk limp out... spend 2 hours in ER, leave with above mentioned brace, crutches and drugs. A note not to go to work- but I had to and a referral to an Orthopedist- which I have no time for. I figure if it's still a pain in the ass, when I get back from Dallas- then I'll go to the Ortho. But since I prefer to live in denial... perhaps by then it will be just fine! :-)

Diagnosis... I have a Sprained Knee- which supposedly entails torn ligaments.... but sprain doesn't sound near as bad as anything being torn though does it? Anyway, 3-6 weeks to heal.

I was very sad looking walking the dogs- brace & crutches- they kept getting excited and jerking the crutches out from under me, since the same hand holding the leash was supporting me on my crutch... had it been anyone else- I'm sure this would have been completely hysterical to watch.

Nice Folks... for the last 3 days I've been limping out of the office- no crutches- it was an executive desicion cuz they blow completely and read above story about dog walking with them AND I can't instruct or assist or carry my beloved cup of coffee with the friggin things. Anyway- me limping carrying BIG bags O stuff and each day some nice boy has offered to carry them for me. How nice are they? This would NEVER have happened in Los Angeles. I was so impressed I almost let them carry the bags... almost... hahahha- yes I'm a pain in the ass.... is that a bad thing?
